Public procurement: the lowest price does not guarantee the quality?

The lowest price which is the key criterion for the bidding companies to win the tender does not guarantees the quality of the tenders, according to the European experts present at the regional conference for public procurement in the CEFTA countries, held in Skopje in mid February. According to them, even though Macedonia has an European Public Procurement Law, some of the solutions are unknown for the European practice.

Macedonian businessmen find frequently changing Public Procurement Law as a big problem, while their partners from the CEFTA member countries complain on favoritism of domestic companies in the larger tenders, which prevents an equal race among all companies.
