Prosecution files charges against former mayor of Ohrid for abuses of public procurements

The Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Corruption filed charges against the former mayor of Ohrid, Aleksandar Petreski and another 15 people for abuse in the exercise of public procurements in the municipality in the period from 2006 to 2013.

The suspects were accused of acquiring about 112 million denars, or about 1.8 million euro. The Petreski was two-term mayor of the city of Ohrid, representing the main opposition social-democrat party, SDSM.
